Analysis of Wave Transmission Characteristics on the TTP Submerged Breakwater using a Parabolic-Type Linear Wave Deformation Model

Owing to the advantages of assuring best views and seawater exchange, submerged breakwaters have been widely installed along eastern coast Korea in recent years. It significantly contributes promoting advancement shorelines by partially inhibiting incident wave energy. Observations were carried out a pressure-type gauge Bongpo Beach evaluate coefficients transmission via breakwater, results obtained compared with those existing conventional equations on coefficient derived from hydraulic experiments. After reviewing equations, we proposed equation terms an error function. Although it exhibited robust relationships crest height breaking coefficient, deviations observed data evident considered be triggered difference climate. Therefore, this study, conducted numerical experiment verify influence period transmission, which adopted parabolic-type mild-slope model. Consequently, deviation calculated appears practically cover all range data. The direction increased, decreased, was determined demonstrate relatively significant coefficient. inferred that study is expected used evaluating design achievement as countermeasure coastal beach erosion.
